Ms. DaVaughn has been an active professional performer throughout the lower mainland in British Columbia for over ten years. Her radiant voice has been widely acclaimed, as have her dramatic performances in opera, operetta and musical theatre. Her recent engagements include joining the chorus of Vancouver Opera for Verdi's Macbeth and singing scenes as First Lady in from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Laurie in Copeland Tender Land in an opera gala to benefit the Surrey Food Bank. In 2006 she also made her Burnaby Lyric Opera debut as Clo-Clo in Léhar's The Merry Widow, and with The Opera Project as Despina in their concert version of Cosi fan Tutte. She won the 2005 Concerto-Aria Competition sponsored by the West Coast Symphony, and recently appeared with them singing excerpts from Massenet's Manon. She also participated in the 2005 Summer Vocal Academy of the Victoria Conservatory of Music where she sang excerpts from Humperdink's Hänsel und Gretel conducted by Guiseppe Pietraroia of Pacific Opera Victoria. She has performed with many fine arts organizations throughout the Lower Mainland including Royal City Music Theatre, The Handel Society of Music, the Fraser Valley Gilbert and Sullivan Society and The Willan Choir.
